AMAG Austria Metall AG’s Supervisory Board reached a unanimous decision in its meeting on 12 April 2016 to prematurely renew the contract of Chief Executive Officer Helmut Wieser until 31 December 2018. “AMAG is on a strong growth trajectory in an expanding market. The management team with its proven track record has made strategic changes within the company to promote this growth and develop the Ranshofen location. In making this decision, the Supervisory Board is above all taking account of continuity in the ongoing implementation of the strategic growth programme”, stated Dr. Josef Krenner, Chairman of AMAG Austria Metall AG’s Supervisory Board. AMAG is supplier of aluminium cast and flat rolled products for highly varied industries such as the aircraft, automotive, sports equipment, lighting, mechanical engineering, construction and packaging industries. The Canadian smelter Alouette, in which AMAG holds a 20 % interest, produces high-quality primary aluminium while safeguarding an exemplary eco-balance. With around 1,700 employees, the company achieved revenue of EUR 913 million and an operating result (EBITDA) of EUR 127 million in the 2015 financial year.
