Relevant books and articles on aluminium have been collected since the 1930s. They are accessible to the public and besides literature relating to aluminium there is also information on magnesium and titanium. Our inventory

Our inventory covers about 2000 specialist books, 40,000 articles, 4,000 bound volumes of specialist publications, numerous research reports and conference papers, and company house journals. Over 60 national and international specialist publications are regularly evaluated for documentation purposes and all contributions on and relating to aluminium are fed into an electronic database.

Interested parties from all specialist fields ─ aluminium industry employees, postgraduate students, students, pupils and private individuals ─ can conduct research on site or online into mechanical engineering, transport and transportation, building and construction, and environmental technology.

The library can be visited following a prior telephone appointment. It is not possible to borrow periodicals or books, but photocopies can be made on site at the customary rate.

Specialist areas

The fields of knowledge are divided into 25 main groups and over 1000 subgroups, ranging from the extraction of aluminium and its material properties, via machining and processing, through to the various fields of application of aluminium.
