GDA has produced two DVDs containing information on aluminium, ‘Aluminium I’ and ‘Aluminium II’, in cooperation with Munich-based Medien LB, which produces media for curricula and standards of education. Amongst other things, the ‘Aluminium kompakt’ CD ROM contains information on the metal, an overview of companies that offer works visits and practical training, and a bibliography.

e-learning course for students

aluMATTER is an educational, interactive, modular e-learning course covering the metallurgy of aluminium that is accessible free of charge via the internet. The course was developed jointly with the European Aluminium Association (EAA), the European aluminium industry and numerous European university institutes as well as the University of Liverpool; it is intended for use in the training and further education of students at technical colleges as well as by engineers working in industry.
