As of 1 February the lawyer Franziska Erdle (42) is the new managing director of the WVM (Wirtschaftsvereinigung Metalle e.V.), Berlin. She follows in the footsteps of Martin Kneer (67), who has left the association after 16 years. The successor of Kneer was resolved already at the WVM board meeting in May 2014.
After holding positions at the Chemicals Industry Association (Verband der Chemischen Industrie) and the German Atomic Forum (Deutsches Atomforum), Franziska Erdle became manager at WVM in 2011, a position she has held since then. “I am very pleased about an environment and working together with a team that I have known very well for years. And I would like to express my great appreciation for Martin Kneer, who always lived the team spirit and made WVM strong with it,” said Erdle.
The official farewell for Martin Kneer was held in January at the metals meet politics event in the ewerk in Berlin. 250 guests from politics, industry and media took part.
