Hammerer Aluminium Industries GmbH (HAI), headquartered in Upper Austrian Ranshofen, has completed the implementation of a nine million euro modernization package. “Effective immediately the modernized extrusion press plant is operating fully. The modernized and the new aluminium press raise the productivity of our main plant in Ranshofen even more, and drastically increase the efficiency of our production processes,” said Rob van Gils, CEO of the HAI Group, to invited guests during the inauguration celebration at the beginning of May 2015, which included representatives from industry and politics and employees of HAI.
During the festivities Rob van Gils declared: “Test operation of our new extrusion presses ran excellently and satisfied all expectations! This will allow us to raise our productivity considerably and with the optimized capacity we can serve our customers even faster.”
HAI in Ranshofen has four extrusion presses, which shape the primary material into high quality aluminium profiles with a force of 20 to 40 MN. The primary material comes in the form of aluminium billets of a variety of alloys from their own foundry. “In our presses we were able to raise the specific pressure by 40 per cent. The significant reduction in non-productive times on account of production conditions allows us to achieve a jump in efficiency throughout the entire production chain,” remarked the Managing Director Operations HAI Austria, Markus Schober, with respect to the modernization push.
