With the takeover, STEP-G is expanding its product portfolio and in-house casting capacity in order to better meet the requirements of key industries such as the automotive, aviation and rail vehicle sectors. With eleven presses, two foundries and eight company locations, STEP-G is an important and reliable partner in the market for highly complex extruded aluminium profiles. Its three brands STEP-G, BUG Aluminium-Systeme and RMG serve the various industries.
The official welcoming ceremony was conducted by Michael Zint, managing director of STEP-G, at the Hettstedt location and it was broadcast live to the Ladenburg foundry. The new employees were greeted with an address of welcome and received gifts from the new owners. Mr Zint told them: “We are pleased to greet you into our STEP-G family and would like to say a warm welcome.” The takeover safeguards about 40 jobs at each location.
STEP-G is one of the world's leading manufacturers of extruded aluminium profiles. It is a multinational company with production facilities in Germany, Belgium and China. The three German extrusion plants in Bitterfeld, Bonn and Vogt are highly specialised and offer an extensive range of profiles and rods. Customers come from the automotive industry and its suppliers, the aircraft and rail vehicle industries, and the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and construction sectors. Various possibilities for further processing through to component production round off the company’s portfolio. The company’s own foundry with its extensive range of special alloys also offers customers security with respect to technology and supply from a single source.
