Hydro to construct pilot plant in Karmøy

Hydro has decided to build a large-scale technology pilot plant in Karmøy, Norway. The most climate-friendly and energy-efficient production system in the world for primary aluminium is to be tested in the plant. Total costs are estimated at 4.3 billion NOK (450 million euros).

Novelis and Jaguar Land Rover develop new aluminium alloy

Novelis has brought a newly developed alloy onto the market for the automotive industry, with up to 75 percent recycled content. The alloy was developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover and represents a central element of the REALCAR (REcycled ALuminium CAR) project.

The Austrian aluminium specialist Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI) is taking over 100 percent of the German LEAN Extrusions GmbH. Already last year this plant produced high-gloss aluminium parts for HAI as 50 percent joint venture.

International Aluminium Die-casting Award 2016

GDA has awarded the winners of the International Aluminium Die Casting Competition 2016 as part of the EUROGUSS 2016 in Nuremberg. Prizes were awarded to three castings from renowned manufacturers with a further three castings receiving special commendations.
